The CultureCanal
We would like to welcome our english-speaking visitors to the CultureCanal, a project of the European Capital of Culture 2010.
The towns along the canal, with the city of Herne acting as a driving force, are planning a high-class, multifaceted program of culture in 2010 with a lot of different themes. The CultureCanal links ten towns and cities of the Ruhr Metropolis: Duisburg, Oberhausen, Bottrop, Essen, Gelsenkirchen, Herne, Recklinghausen, Castrop-Rauxel, Waltrop and Datteln via the Rhine-Herne-Canal.
